I'm almost certain what whatever I'm doing wrong is stupid and obvious, but for the life of me I can't figure out what the hell it is. NTLDR: Couldn't open drive multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1) So, I ran the XP install disk, which copies the appropriate files, restarts, and then, without fail, I get this:Ĭouldn't open drive multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1) It's currently the only HD hooked up, and I have it as Disk 0 and the jumper is set to Master. ![]() He had an old Win98 HD that he had files on he that he still wanted, so I just popped it into an enclosure and backed his files up on my computer temporarily, reformatted as NTFS (it had been FAT, naturally), and then swapped it into the box I'm putting together for him. ![]() ![]() I'm scrapping together a desktop computer for my housemate from a couple of other computers he had lying around.
